A New Beginning

13 10 2012

I want to thank everyone who supported me during mycharity: water campaign and those who donated their hard earned money to help end the water crisis. With your help, we raised a total of $599. The money we raise was pooled together with other mycharity: water campaigns and sent out into the field in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Cote d’Ivoire.

According to charity: water, their local partner, Action Against Hunger (ACF), in the DRC is busy implementing distribution points on small scale pumped systems and gravity flow systems. They’re also building spring protection systems and rainwater catchments. In Cote d’Ivoire, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is drilling new boreholes and rehabilitating non-charity: water projects!

On a separate note, I have some wonderful news to share. A few weeks ago our daughter was born! Her name is Marilyn Rachel and she is amazing. She loves to giggle when Daddy gives her raspberries and is very interested in the art of napping. Hopefully, after winter, and when she gets a bit bigger, we’ll be able to pick up where I left off on my campaign!

Our New Adventure

24 04 2012

Well, as you know, the last post had me feeling not too well, and there’s a terrific reason for it! It turns out, my husband and I are expecting a little one in late summer/early fall! It came as a complete shock to the two of us, but we are over joyed! I’ve been bedridden for the last few months and it looks like I’m gonna be in bed for the rest of the pregnancy. It’s still a tad early too tell if it’s a boy or girl, but either way we’re ecstatic!

A cute photo of my ever growing baby bump!

Week 10 – Day 1 – 0.0 Miles

26 02 2012

Sadly, today was no better than yesterday. 😦 I am still unable to keep anything down and now I’m having cold and hot flashes. What’s more is that I can now add dizziness to my list. 😦 I really hope tomorrow is a better day so I can get back to the gym and walk! 🙂

Week 9 – Day 7 – 0.0 Miles

25 02 2012

😦 Today, I woke up and found that I was sick. Really, really sick. I am unable hold anything down, and I feel so dizzy. I think I have the flu, and unfortunately, I wasn’t able to walk today. Heck, I’m lucky if I can make it to the bedroom door. 🙂 Here’s to hoping tomorrow is a better day!

Week 9 – Day 6 – 1.0 Mile

25 02 2012

I didn’t realize how tired I was until I woke up early this morning and I had completely forgot to publish my mile from last night! 🙂 Well, I headed over to the gym last night and walked another mile for my charity: water campaign!

Another mile walked!
